The hairstyle and the brief look at the costume after Wolverine are key. It’s clear that Starlin snuck Superman into this Marvel Comics vignette. The secret cameo shows the DC Comics hero paying his respects for the death of another superhero. The Man of Steel is visible enough to make it out. However, he is not so visible as to be obvious. Obviously, the publisher of Stan Lee and company would have legal problems using it and they subtly dodged it. But the tribute is there. Brutal.
