It’s one of the weirdest concepts in movie history, but Sony has insisted that its Spider-man Villains Universe has to work by force, Yes or yes. And with ‘Venom’ they succeeded. The problem is everything that ‘Venom’ is not: ‘Morbius’ morbided the box office, as we all know, and the reactions to the ‘Kraven’ trailer do not anticipate a smashing success. So of course the guillotine is starting to fall.
The Dead man moves his phenomenal ass
The height of absurdity came when someone at Sony thought it was a good idea to make a movie about a pseudo-villain Wrestling wrestler who appeared in two Spider-Man sideline comics and put on his Bad Bunny face. Not even the worst trained artificial intelligence could come up with something like that. And, of course, after months of delays and rumors, they have finally decided to say goodbye to ‘El Muerto’ through the back door: removing the film from the calendar of future releases and, with it, condemning her to Limbo.
Bad Bunny, who is still looking to make a career in the cinema, has already participated in ‘F9’ and ‘Bullet train’, but his first starring role continues to resist him. It’s not like I needed the money, to be honest. There are those who have the hobby of collecting Nigerian stamps and Bad Bunny to be the protagonist of millionaire franchises. It’s the same.
On the other hand, the Spider-man Villains Universe continues on its way. ‘Madame web’, of which quite a few good things are heard, will be released on February 16, 2024, and the third part of ‘Venom’ will do so in October. Projects in production there are a lot of them, from ‘The Sinister Six’ to ‘Jackpot’ through ‘Hypno-Hustler’. Will we see any of them? The bets right now say don’t wait around.
