James Gunn hasn’t stopped being in the news since the moment he se joined the DCU as co-head of the studio, and now he’s busy revamping it and giving it a new look. After confirming the director of ‘Flash’ as responsible for ‘Batman: The Brave and the Bold’, the first film to be released under his direction will be ‘Superman: Legacy’. However, while his latest MCU movie has brought lost glory to Marvel Studios, neither that nor any of the other movies in that franchise are his favorites.
MCU/Marvel movies on James Gunn’s list
‘Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. Gunn’s 3’ has generated a lot of excitement and has served as a balm to Gunn after receiving negative feedback for making various changes to the DC Universe after being appointed. The director recently appeared on Michael Rosenbaum’s Inside of You podcast, where he discussed various things, such as which is the hardest part of running a studio, and he also revealed his favorite MCU movie.
When asked about his beloved Marvel movie in general, He said different titles for each stage, Disney, Fox and Sony.
“My favorite MCU movie is Iron Man. I think it’s an amazing and cool movie, but my favorite movie in all of Marvel is probably Deadpool. Well, actually, no, my favorite Marvel movie is [Spider-Man] Into the Spider-Verse’.
‘Iron Man’ is the base movie of the MCU, while ‘Deadpool’ has a very similar style to his movies, while ‘Spider-Man: A New Universe’ gave a unique introduction to the character. In addition, Gunn has also answered the vital question of who are the only ones who could pummel the Avengers well and he has no doubts about it.
“Look, I always thought the Guardians of the Galaxy would easily beat the Avengers. They’re just from outer space. They have pretty advanced technology, so it would be hard to beat them.”
