BRZRKR is a comic book series written by and starring Keanu Reeves himself. Now the actor talks about the next adaptations of his character on Netflix
At San Diego Comic-Con. Keanu Reeves spoke about the decision to adapt his BRZRKR comic book into an anime series as well as a live-action movie. The 12-issue comic series was created by Keanu Reeves in collaboration with comic book writer Matt Kindt and is drawn by Ron Garney.
Posted by Boom! Studios, its first issue became one of the best-selling comics of the last decade. The story of BRZRKR follows an immortal warrior known only as B who agrees to work for the US government in exchange for discovering the truth behind his long and bloody existence.
In March of last year, Netflix announced that they were preparing an adaptation of the comic book series, both for a live-action movie starring Keanu Reeves himself in the lead role, and an anime series. In October of last year, it was officially announced that screenwriter Mattson Tomlin, who helped Matt Reeves write batman, would be in charge of writing the script for the film. Which Keanu Reeves has suggested will be rated R, though it won’t be a direct copy of the comic’s source material.

However, until recently, we didn’t have many more details, until the BRZRKR panel at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con. It has been confirmed that the animated series sequel to the film. It is currently being produced by Production IG, the same Japanese anime studio behind Ghost in the Shel. Reeves discussed his love for the animated medium. Admitting that he originally watched anime when he was a child and didn’t understand what it was about. The Wachowskis would later introduce him to movies like Akira and Ghost in the Shell while working on the Matrix. And he has referred to the anime as “one of the coolest things I’ve ever seen as a human being,” applauding applauded the medium’s ability to portray not only action, but also to expose moral stories about who and what we are.
While official release dates for either the BRZRKR movie or the anime series have yet to be revealed, Keanu Reeves fans will be able to see him back in the role of John Wick when the fourth installment is released in March next year. , of which Lionsgate has offered the first trailer at this San Diego Comic Con and which you can see below:
