The mighty Celestials are becoming more and more important in the Marvel Studios Cinematic Universe and we will surely see more.
The first time that Marvel Studios showed to the Celestials it was in Guardians of the Galaxy (2014), but since then their number and importance have not stopped growing. especially in the movie The Eternalswhere they explain many more details of these beings as old as the Universe itself.
These are the 8 that we have seen in the movies:
Arisham. Considered the first of the Celestials, he is responsible for creating the first sun and giving birth to the Universe. He created the Deviants to help birth other Celestials but that race began to mutate and spiral out of control. So he then created the Eternals to contain the threat. He wants the Earth to be used for the birth of one of his own, but the Eternals who are there decide to stop the process and Tiamut is not born.
Jemiah. He is one of those responsible for creating stars and shaping the current Universe.
Nezarr. He is one of the oldest Celestials and therefore one of the first to exist.
hargen. He was also part of the group that began to bring the plants to life.
That N. He is the member of this powerful race that we saw pulverize an entire civilization on a planet with the Power Stone in the movie Guardians of the Galaxy.
Knowhere (Wisdom). We don’t have a lot of data on this Celestial, but we do know that his head was lopped off and now it’s a mining station where they extract whatever they can from his remains.
Tiamut. He is the member of the Celestials who was to be born from Earth and who was stopped by the Eternals because they felt that humanity should not be destroyed.
EGO. The villain of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 considers himself a Celestial, although his birth was different from the rest. He managed to control matter and built a planet around himself. Since he had a plan to conquer everything but did not have the strength to achieve it, he decided to father a son and combine the powers. After many attempts, it was Peter Quill / Star Lord who could help him, but discovering his evil intentions, he opposes them and they fight until EGO dies.
The movies of Marvel Studios where they all appear the Celestials can currently be seen on the streaming platform Disney Plus, which can be accessed through this link.
