A franchise that gave us goosebumps
This will be the first time that the franchise of The Exorcist return to the big screen since the premiere in 2005 of Dominion: Prequel to The Exorcistan alternate version of Exorcist: The Beginning. Those films followed in the wake of The Exorcist II: The Heretic (1977) and The Exorcist III (1990).
None of them had the recognition of Friedkin’s tape, which is an indisputable classic of horror movies.
Years later, it also came out The Exorcist, a short-lived TV series on Fox and cleverly set in the same world as the original classic. It was a shame there wasn’t a third season as it was a pretty well made product.
