In 2019 ‘City Hunter the Movie: Shinjuku Private Eyes’ was released with a small crossover with the thieves of ‘Cat’s Eye’. The film proved that the franchise is a long way from the graveyard, and it did very well in theaters in Japan, so it wasn’t long before it was announced that another film was in the works.
Thus we come to ‘City Hunter the Movie: Angel Dust‘ with another new case for Ryo and Kaori. No Japanese release date has been confirmed yet, other than it will arrive in 2023, but the film’s promotional material is announcing it as “The Final Chapter Begins”with what may be the definitive end of the saga.
The anime series did not fully adapt Tsukasa Hojo’s manga, so it is very possible that the film is in charge of finishing closing the plots that would have remained pending. In any case, ‘City Hunter the Movie: Angel Dust’ will focus on Ryo’s past and Hideyuki’s death, in addition to Angel Dustwhich will also sound like fans of the original series.
sunrisethe ‘Gundam’ studio, has been animating all of ‘City Hunter’ since its inception and is also repeating with the new movies, so at least we know that the animation is going to be a blast.
