Canal+ will no longer broadcast category V content of a pornographic nature on LG televisions from December 11. The television group did not give an explanation for this decision. Owners of these televisions will therefore have to go through the site to continue viewing this content.
For all those who experienced life before the Internet, Canal+ is, among other things, the channel on which it was possible to watch erotic content on television. Since then, obviously, the demand for such programs has fallen sharply, but that has not stopped the group from continuing on this path. So this is, in a way, a small page turning for owners of LG televisions.
Indeed, Canal+ has just announced bad news for the latter. In a press release, the channel explains that its pornographic category V content will no longer be broadcast on the brand’s TVs as of December 11. Even programs rented or purchased by the user will no longer be able to be viewed from the television after this date.

The same goes for channel subscriptions, which must be deactivated from the Canal+ website. To do this, you will need to go to the section Subscription of his Client area. Canal+ does not specify that these subscriptions will be terminated automatically, it is therefore necessary to do so manually before December 11 if you do not wish to view this content outside of your television.

The only remaining option, in fact, is to go through the channel’s VOD platform or through its decoder. Canal+ does not explain the reasons behind this decision. Given the very targeted nature of this, we can however speculate that a dispute with LG, which perhaps did not appreciate its televisions being used for these purposes, pushed the group to completely remove this content.
