Of few things am I as certain in this life as the fact that ‘Daggers in the Back’ is one of the best movies of 2019 and probably of its decade. And it is that the deconstruction of whodunnit signed by Rian Johnson after his magnificent and misunderstood incursion into the ‘Star Wars’ universe with ‘The Last Jedi’ —I hope some “I stopped reading here”— gave us an entertainment that was as neat in form as it was lucid in substance.

After the pleasant surprise that it entailed, many of us celebrated that Netflix was made not only with one, but with two sequels to the murder mystery starring Daniel Craig. Now, after learning that the Big N’s plans were to launch the first continuation in the last quarter of 2022, we finally have a definite date for the return of detective Benoit Blanc.
‘Daggers in the back: The mystery of Glass Onion’ —which in its original language is titled ‘Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery’— will hit the streaming platform on December 23 this year to liven up the Christmas festivities with a new mystery to solve. The first plot details of it can be extracted from the brief synopsis that is already available.
“When billionaire Miles Bron invites a few of his close associates on a getaway to his private Greek island, it soon becomes clear that all is not perfect in paradise. And when someone turns up dead, who better than Benoit Blanc to unravel all the layers?” of the mystery?

To narrate his new story, Johnson has relied on a top-level cast led by the aforementioned Craig, which includes names of the stature of Edward Norton, Janelle Monáe, Kathryn Hahn, Leslie Odom Jr., Jessica Henwick, Madelyn Cline, Kate Hudson, and Dave Bautista. A real luxury.
Now all that remains is to wait a few months to be able to get hold of what is probably one of the last great titles of the 2022 film course.
