Fashion is constantly evolving, and great designers always seek to break stereotypes and get out of the everyday. In this quest to set trends, they often design garments that are as eccentric as they are controversial that, in addition to being surprising, the general public takes them as strange or even ridiculous.
A brand that is characterized by innovating and creating controversy due to the strange collections it puts on trend is Balenciaga, and its latest release proves it. The newest thing from the Spanish fashion house is a quite peculiar tennis collection, as they look dirty and look very worn.
This is the new line of sneakers “Paris Sneaker” that was unveiled through the brand’s social media accounts, where creative director Demna Gvasalia announced that they will be available from May in some parts of the world.
The advertising campaign shared on the Instagram account demnagram, shows a line of tennis style converse, looking extremely destroyed and dirty. Although the shoes in this collection are worn and the design may not be to the liking of most people, it is worth mentioning that the advertising images exaggerate the dirty appearance of the shoes.
The most striking model is Paris High Top Full Destroyedwhich emulate the classic “Chuck Taylor” model of converse, only these are ripped and have the appearance of being dirty, a little discolored and full of paint. Coming in black and white, with the word Balenciaga on the front, this pair retails for approximately $1,850.
They also launched another less expensive model, known as paris high top, They are very similar sneakers to the previous ones, only these look like a new pair of sneakers you should see: clean and without tears, and their price is around 700 dollars. To complete the collection, there are the Paris Mule, which have a very similar design on the front, but, unlike the others, on the back they simulate being cut at the bottom. This model will be priced at approximately $560.
Its launch is scheduled for May 16 in Europe, the United States and the Middle East. In the case of Japan, they will be available until May 23.
