With 11 years with the role, Scarlett Johansson confirmed in a chat with Gwyneth Paltrow that her stage as Black Widow at Marvel Studios came to an end in 2021 and the actress reiterates that she will not return to a new MCU film.
“I’ve finished. That chapter is over. I did everything I had to do. Of course, playing a character like that again and again, for more than a decade, is a unique experience.”.
A couple of months ago, a site claimed that Johansson would appear in three more movies from phase 5 and 6, but those reports were debunked by the actress.
In an interview with comicbook, during the media tour of the Black Widow movie in 2021, Johansson acknowledged that she is satisfied with the results achieved with Marvel, and the decision to end her journey as Black Widow.
“I am very happy with the work we have done during this decade and, you know, it is bittersweet to say ‘goodbye’, but if you love something, you must release it!”.
