An American woman came under fire for paying her dog for a first-class flight, but she defended herself by saying: “She’s not just a dog, she’s my daughter.”
In recent years, airlines have become increasingly animal-friendly as more and more families choose to travel with their four-legged companions.
Pet owners can have their dog or cat relax in an airline-approved carrier under the seat in front of them. However, this is not exactly the case for Helen, the woman who has been criticized and has sparked a strong debate among TikTok users after sharing a video showing how her dog named Fifi traveled first class as if she were It was about a person.
In the clip shared by the pet’s owner on her TikTok account @filittledarling, Fifi can be seen traveling in first class comfortably asleep in her seat and covered with a blanket during an 11 hour and 40 minute flight from China to Turkey.
I don’t think people who don’t have pets get it… It’s not just a dog, it’s my daughter.
Although there were some users who applauded that the dog traveled in first class and praised her good behavior during the flight, others questioned Helen about the excessive cost of the ticket, alluding to everything that could be done with that money.
On the other hand, there were those who asked her how she managed to get her dog to travel first class, to which the woman replied that Fifi is a certified therapy dog, which facilitates the procedures when traveling with her.
The documents required to fly with a dog in the cabin will vary depending on the airline and where you are flying to and from.
In an interview for Newsweek, Helen revealed that she adopted Fifi when she was one year old and that the controversial flight was her first, so she decided to take her in the cabin with her, as she couldn’t stand the pup being in the cargo hold.
In addition, the woman explained that before boarding the plane, she made sure that Fifi did her physiological needs and took her for a long walk at the airport. Finally, she said that during the flight the amount of food that she normally gives to the dog decreased, but she always made sure that she had water available.
