MADRID – The film “Argentina, 1985” and the miniseries “News of a Kidnapping” were the big winners of the X Platino Awards for Ibero-American Cinema that were held on Saturday night in Madrid at a gala full of stars from both sides of the Atlantic Ocean. “It is wonderful to be in this X edition of the Platino Awards. It is our place of containment, it is our trench. We have to take care of them and protect them. Especially for the productions that are yet to come,” he said. In the series categories, the Colombian-Chilean production “Noticia de un secuestro” received the most awards, with four, including Best Ibero-American Miniseries.
Curiously, both “Argentina, 1985” and “Kidnapping News” are Amazon Prime Video productions.
The Platino Awards for Ibero-American Cinema honor films and series from all over Latin America, Spain and Portugal in an event that aspires to become the Oscars of the Spanish and Portuguese film industry.
