Werewolf by Night, or Werewolf By Night, is now available, that’s why we tell you the easter eggs and references of the special presentation.
The monsters have arrived in the MCU, and a simple proof of this is the opening of Marvel Studios intervened by claws and roars from beyond (first finding, write it down). For this reason, following the work of Thomas Bacon of Screen Rant, we give you the easterr eggs and the references of Werewolf By Night, named for Latin America as Hombre Lobo Por la Noche and The Curse of Hombre Lobo for Spain.
Easter eggs and references explained from Werewolf By Night
Werewolf By Night introduces monsters to the MCU
Although there are no references to whether or not it belongs to Earth-616, director Michael Giacchino confessed to Deadline that it belongs to the main Marvel Universe. However, he mentioned that they never established what timeframe the special takes place in. The truth is that Werewolf By Night introduces us to a universe full of supernatural creatures, given the large number of monster hunters that appear, including the Bloodstone lineage and the powerful stone they possess.
In addition to, of course, the large number of monsters that appear dead or whose death is counted. This narrative line will no doubt be expanded upon by the Blade movie.

We know the story of Ulysses Bloodstone
In the aforementioned Bloodstone family, we meet Ulysses Bloodstone, the leader of the sect of monster hunters that emerged from the pages of Marvel Comics. In the comics, Ulysses Bloodstone was a caveman who stayed alive for 10,000 years after stumbling upon an ancient Bloodgem. In the MCU, the “Blood Stone” has been passed down from generation to generation. The turn to wear it now would be Elsa Bloodstone (Laura Donnelly), the rebellious daughter of Ulysses.
“The beginning of Werewolf By Night includes a brief account of Odysseus’s death, written in Latin. He is described as the seventh son of the Bloodstone, and was apparently killed on the last full moon of the year, at the end of the bloodshed. This suggests that Ulysses Bloodstone died on a mission, and the nod to the full moon may even hint that he was killed by a werewolf.”
Elsa Bloodstone, the MCU’s new monster hunter
In the comics, Elsa Bloodstone was created by Dan Abnett and Michael Lopez in 2001 as a teenager who discovers that she is the daughter of the late monster hunter Ulysses Bloodstone, and takes possession of the Bloodgem to further her quest. The Elsa presented by Werewolf By Night is of legal age, self-confident and with combat skills and weapons. Also, she will now be the leader of the hunters.

Gael Garcia Bernal’s Jack Russell
Jack Russell the Werewolf, played by Gael García Bernal, debuted in 1972’s Marvel Spotlight #2, and is the heir to the curse of lycanthropy, as in the classic story, and hails from Eastern Europe. However, this appears to be a Latino version of the character, closer to the second incarnation of him, Jake Gomez, of Hopi origin from the Sonoran Desert.
In fact, it was speculated that Jake would appear played by the Mexican-American actor Jaycob Maya, which was not confirmed. In the comics, Jack Russell is a recurring rival of Moon Knight.
Who is Man-Thing?
In the comics, the Man-Thing was biochemist Ted Sallis, whose experiments with the super-soldier serum transformed him into a monster that merged with the Florida Everglades swamp. The one from the MCU is also called Ted, and his power is to burn anything that feels fear in front of him. He had already had an easter egg in Thor: Ragnarok, meaning he was once a champion of Sakaar. It is expected that, as in the comics, this Man-Thing will be a guardian of the Nexus of All Realities, that is, the Multiverse.
Nosferatu and the ancient vampires
Werewolf By Night features several Nosferatu, a Marvel vampire race “inspired by the classic 1922 film of the same name. In the comics, the Nosferatu were the first vampires, the ancient rivals of Dracula… The comics revealed that they were sorcerers living in ancient Atlantis, using the power of the Darkhold to unleash ancient magic.” It is unlikely that this relationship with Talocán, Marvel Studios version of Atlantis.

Werewolf By Night shows Wendigo and Sasquatch
In the intro, Werewolf By Night gives us a glimpse of the Wendigo, one of Marvel’s most iconic monsters, and a constant rival to the Hulk and Wolverine. We also see a monster named Sasquatch, both Canadians.
Is there a reference to Black Knight?
The introduction shows a possible reference to Black Knight, the character that Kit Harrington will play and whose civilian identity has already been seen in Eternals. According to speculation in Screen Rant, the armored knight that appears in the image could be an earlier version of Black Knight, as Marvel Studios seems to be relating the Ebony Blade to vampires. Recall that in one of the Eternals post-credits scenes, Dane Whitman stands before the sword and Blade’s voice is heard.
The mighty bloodstone
The Bloodstone is a mystical gem with power over monsters. It has passed from generation to generation in the Bloodstone family: “although its origin is unknown (in the comics, it is linked to a different dimension). Interestingly, some Latin inscriptions seem to hint that, like in the comics, there are multiple Bloodstones. If so, some smaller ones could be used by less prominent monster hunters or, more disturbingly, evil forces could be using their power.”
The reference to Marvel Comics Presents
In the end credits, we see the phrase Marvel Studios Presents, as one of the references to the title Marvel Comics Presents, a comic book series that featured horror characters, such as Werewolf By Night and Man-Thing.
