The anime of barely ‘Ya Boy Kongming!’ the year premiered and another adaptation is already underway, although it is not the second season that many fans expect. Instead, Fuji TV has on its hands ua live action series based on the manga by Yuto Yotsuba and Ryo Ogawa, and we can expect it by the end of 2023.
A peaceful party life in Tokyo
The plot of ‘Ya Boy Kongming!’ (‘Paripi Komei’) follows the famous military strategist Zhue Liang Kongming, who lived between the years 181 and 234 and was an important figure of the Three Kingdoms period of China. But instead of having a ‘Kingdom’ military period drama, this story picks up when Kongming is about to die and casts a last wish for a peaceful existence for his next life.
Your wish is fulfilled (more or less), because suddenly finds himself back in his prime years transported to modern Japan in the middle of a Halloween party. Hopping from party to party overnight she meets Eiko Tsukimian amateur singer, and so begins Kongming’s second life.
Live-action series premiere of ‘Ya Boy Kongming!’ for October 2023and a first image of Osamu Mukai as our leading man (and ready to party in a suit that is apparently around 210 centimeters tall).
Shushei Shibue will direct the series and Nonji Nekomo will be in charge of the script, based on the 13 manga volumes so far.
If we can’t wait until the new series comes out, we have the 12-episode anime available on HIDIVE. ‘Ya Boy Kongming!’ It was also one of the big surprises of last year and took several nominations at the Anime Awards, including Best Debut Series and Best Comedy.
