James Gunn talks about Guardians of the Galaxy 3 and reveals bad news about the end of Marvel Studios’ cosmic trilogy.
Director of Guardians of the Galaxy 3, James Gunnhas shared a disappointing update about the future of Thor in Marvel Studios. You have done it by responding to a clip of the podcast My Mom’s Basement with Robbie Fox.
During that segment, the podcast guest shared his frustration that James Gunn’s brief firing by Disney prevented Thor’s cosmic adventures from expanding into Guardians of the Galaxy 3. Apparently, she was going to appear there, but finally they went to Thor: Love and Thunderso they ended up in the hands of Taika Waititi.
I appreciate the love but Thor was never going to be in Vol 3.

James Gunn responded to that podcast break on Twitter and said the following: “I appreciate the love, but Thor was never going to show up in Guardians of the Galaxy 3.“. Director of peacemaker previously revealed that he did not have much information about Thor: Love and Thunder. However, he consulted on the use to which his characters would be put, and the two directors swapped scripts during the process. A pity that it has been confirmed that the God of Thunder I was never going to appear in the movie…
There were never any plans for the Asgardian god with the Guardians
In most cases, the words of a Marvel Studios director can never be fully trusted. However, James Gunn has never been one to lie to his followers. He has used cryptic redactions in the past to avoid revealing surprises, but the filmmaker seems very honest in confirming Thor’s absence in Guardians of the Galaxy 3.
It is intriguing to hear that the Asgardian god’s brief galactic escapade in Thor: Love and Thunder was always the plan when Thor met the Guardians in Avengers: Infinity War. After all, it seems like a pretty absurd direction given how small a role these characters have in Thor: Love and Thunder and how small his influence on history ended up being. we hope that Guardians of the Galaxy 3 surprise us with something else. With James Gunn, I’m sure he does.
