We are already saying goodbye to the spring animes and we have a very long list of premieres ahead for this summer. Between the return of ‘Jujutsu Kaisen’ and ‘Bleach’, the arrival of the new series of ‘Rurouni Kenshin’ with a more faithful adaptation to the original manga.
Returning to the Meiji Era
In the midst of the controversies in which its author has been involved, ‘Rurouni Kenshin’ is about to release a new anime and the series will take off next July 6th. It is still not very clear if there will be simulcast and on which platform, so we will have to keep waiting to see if there is confirmation soon.
What has been confirmed is that the anime will be divided into two parts which will be issued immediately. This is: ‘Rurouni Kenshin’ it starts now in the summer, will air during this quarter, and then continues through the fall season. With all these weeks of broadcast, it is very possible that the season will be around 24 episodes.
He is taking care of the animation Liden Films, which also has the third season of ‘Tokyo Revengers’ already underway and is about to release the second of ‘Bastard!!’. Even so, and judging by the look of the trailer, it seems that they have put a lot of care into ‘Rurouni Kenshin’ to leave a very beautiful and leading animation.
The original anime of ‘Rurouni Kenshin’ premiered in 1996, while the manga was still in publication, so the idea with this new series is to adapt it more faithfully (although the original series is still a classic that is worth watching). The plot follows Himura Kenshin, a wandering swordsman who saves the life of the young Kaoru Kamiya. As a thank you from her she offers him lodging in her dojo, but Kenshin fails to live a peaceful life and fully escape his past.
