After finally becoming World Champion and with twenty-five years as the protagonist… well, it seemed that Ash Ketchum He didn’t have too much ahead of him as a coach and the ‘Pokémon’ anime has given up saying goodbye to him with a very emotional little bow to put the finishing touch on his journey.
Eye! Obviously we are going to talk about the ending of ‘Pokémon’, so this article contains spoilers!
The best there will ever be
It’s been two decades with Ash and Pikachu as protagonists and we’ve visited a lot of regions of the ‘Pokémon’ world with them. A few weeks ago the final stretch of the anime began, in which they have continued to explore the world calmly and also reuniting with old acquaintances.
‘Pokémon: Aim to Be a Pokemon Master’ has brought us back to the Team Rocket at full throttle, a little run-in with gary oakand also reunions with some of Ash’s old Pokémon companions such as pidgeot. And to give us a little stab in the heart, the anime also brought back Misty and Brock for a time.

Nostalgia has been a strong point of this small arcor, who has been in charge of recovering characters from the entire series and even performing the odd little tribute while Ash and Pikachu reflect on what really matters to be a Pokémon Master.
In the last scene of the anime, we can see Ash and Pikachu running towards the horizonwith a very bright rainbow in the sky like the one left behind by Ho-Oh in the very first episode of the series.

And yes, ‘Pokémon’ also leaves us with an open door for its most iconic protagonists to returns. Because even though Ash has blown up pairs and pairs of shoes and it seems that he has already achieved everything and was ready to stay at home, his adventure is not completely over. Pallet Town remains small and the anime makes it very clear with the coach and his partner embarking on another new journey.

Just before the credits we run out the little cliffhanger that promises that “Next time… a new beginning!”. Perhaps he is referring to the new ‘Pokémon’ anime set in the Paldea region that starts next month. Or maybe we haven’t said goodbye to Ash as much as we thought.
