Vanessa Martin has been in charge of giving the proclamation in Seville Pride 2023 this week. The singer from Malaga has done so wearing the characteristic polka dot shawl in the colors of the LGTBI flag that María del Monte already wore last year during her famous speech with which the sevillanas singer comes out of the closet in 2022.
Just like María del Monte did last year with her current wife, Inmaculada Casal, Vanesa Martín has taken advantage of the proclamation to publicly announce that she has a partner: “Today I come to celebrate sexuality, identity, being like each one wants or feels really and fully. Today a woman is my partner, the one who steals my thought. Here, here just send this one. There is no more here”, he began by pointing to his heart.
Although we had already seen Vanesa Martín share with some of her partners some stolen from photographers as happened with Mónica Carrillo, the singer has always been accused of not getting wet in her sexuality. A topic that she also wanted to silence during her proclamation: “I don’t want to tiptoe by and I think I’m being pretty clear. I believe in free love, in that everyone is what they feel: homosexual, bisexual, trans… What each one wants, what your origin defends, your body demands, your skin desires and needs”, the singer of ‘Complicity’ continued.

“I believe in diversity, in winning rights that are good for all of us, and not just for a few. Let’s not shoot ourselves in the foot”, he continued expressing in his applauded speech that, despite being untouchable, has been tarnished by the tradition of the Sevillians of taking their town criers in a convertible car greeting the masses. Something that many have compared to the arrival of some colonizing monarchs to the colonized lands.
