If you are one of those people who usually craves a sweet treat, a recipe like this one for the flower cake with filo pastry and cinnamon cream will come in handy. And it is that it is perfect for, in just under an hour, have a cake on the table to take off your hat. In addition, to make it you only need a non-removable mold (the final dough is very liquid and can leak in the oven), a shake, a kitchen brush and basic ingredients. Pretty to look at, juicy and tender on the palate, we cannot ask for more from this simple dessert.
We start by brushing each sheet of filo pastry with melted butter. Next, we brush a non-removable mold of about 23 cm in diameter also with melted butter.
Then, with each sheet of phyllo pastry already brushed, we make a kind of strip by folding each sheet several times in a zig zag pattern and placing it in the mold, from the center to the edges, giving it flower shape.
Preheat the oven to 175 degrees and bake the dough for 15 minutes. Once the time has passed, to make the cream, we put the milk and cinnamon in a bowl. We heat the mixture for two minutes in the microwave or on the fire.
On the other hand, we make a porridge with the eggs, sugar and cornstarch. Add the milk to the mixture, stir and pour it over the dough, previously passing it through a strainer and bake again for 20 minutes.
Finally, we sprinkle icing sugar and enjoy the cake hot or cold, as you like.
