The Man of Steel’s return to the big screen is drawing near as Superman: Legacy enters its pre-production stage.
Superman Legacy will mark the return of the Man of Steel to the big screen in a new era led by filmmaker James Gunn, who announced that this film has started its pre-production stage.

As SMASH informed you in January, James Gunn announced the first projects that will make up Chapter 1: Gods and Monsters, within the DC Universe, and according to Gunn, the project that will start this Universe will be Superman: Legacy, which wrote the native of San Luis.
Gunn himself was in charge of announcing that he himself will be the director of this new Superman film, which has entered its pre-production stage, as announced by the filmmaker on his social networks.
“I am honored to be a part of the legacy. And what better day than #SupermanAnniversary Day to dive headfirst into #SupermanLegacy early pre-production? Costume, production design and more now live”.
For James Gunn, directing Superman: Legacy will not only be the task of ushering in a new era in the story of the Last Son of Krypton on the big screen, it will also be an attempt to honor his father, who passed away in 2020.

Superman: Legacy will be inspired by the Grant Morrison and Frank comic Quitely All-Star: Superman, and its premiere is scheduled for July 11, 2025.
