It is well said that art is a subjective expression, because what for some may be beautiful and have great meaning, for others it is irrelevant. Proof of this is Noh Huyn Soo, a South Korean student who entered the Leeum Art Museum and ate a banana that was part of the works of Maurizio Cattelan.
Huyn Soo stated that it was easy for him to eat said fruit because he was hungry and it was within his reach. In addition, he did not see anything extraordinary in her, something that many netizens have agreed on.
Those responsible for the Leeum Art Museum, located in Yongsan-gu, Seoul, South Korea, reported that the banana on the wall was the work called comedian, Made by Italian artist Maurizio Cattelan and valued at $120,000.
Something that the young student was not interested in at all, because he crossed the restricted access line, took the banana from its place and took a huge bite without fear of the consequences. As if that weren’t enough, Huyn Soo stuck the remains of the fruit in the same place and continued with his visit as if nothing had happened.
The moment was recorded by the visitors to the place, who questioned Huyn Soo for his “evil” act, to which the young man replied that he was simply hungry and was satisfying his needs.

The student’s act caused a stir among artistic appreciation experts, who called it rude and disrespectful. They even asked that he be penalized financially or imprisoned for his crime.
Incredibly, Maurizio Cattelan, creator of the work, said that there was no problem and even applauded it as an act of rebellion by Huyn Soo. In addition, he confirmed that it was not the first time that something like this had happened.
On the other hand, those in charge of the museum decided not to present any complaint against the student and placed a new banana in the place. In fact, the fruit is known to be changed every third day.
