You can watch the trailer below
Strange world is directed by Hall (Oscar®-winning Big Hero 6, Ray and the Last Dragon) and co-director and screenwriter Qui Nguyen (co-writer on Raya and the Last Dragon)and produced by Roy Conli (Academy Award-winning Big Hero 6, Tangled).
Hall previously said that the film is a nod to the adventure stories of “old pulp numbers”. With a touch of the beloved Pixar movie oops, the advance of Strange world combines ancient adventure stories with Dr. Seuss-style fantasy elements to create a «journey beyond the possible full of infinite mystery». What has not been seen in the trailer is that it has songs for what may be the first animated film in a long time from Disney that is not a musical, in the style Wreck-It Ralph, or Zootopia.
For Jake Gyllenhaal it is his debut in an animated film, he said: “I think all you really have, as an actor, outside of technical skills, is your imagination, so that was one thing. I found it interesting. We had a camera that had to film us doing the action so the animators could mimic our facial expressions. So I had a hard time holding that screen and talking to it at the same time and it was really, really hot. I played the entire part on my knees, basically in a prayer position next to a bed, with two pillows on either side of my head and a very heavy blanket over them.”
As for his future live-action projects. Gyllenhaal has this one in high demand and has several movies in the works, including two TV miniseries. prison revenge drama The Son and the long-awaited adaptation of Lake Success by Gary Shteyngart. The actor is also producing “Lake Success” through his production company Nine Stories and is rumored to be pursuing a directing role in addition to starring.
Strange world It will be released in theaters on November 23. And apparently in the trailer it will be quite an audiovisual spectacle.
