British royalty continues to be in the news several days after the death of Queen Elizabeth II, now it does so after it was announced that the Prince Richard, Duke of Gloucesterput up for sale the luxurious mansion that his father, the prince henryacquired in 1937.
Richard, who at the time of his birth was the fifth in the list of succession to the throne and today is already the 29th, is selling the historic property, known as Barnwell Manorat £4.8 million pounds, something like $5.3 million dollars.
The reasons for its sale are due to the fact that the grandson of George V does not have sufficient financial resources to face its extremely high maintenance costs, the same reason that led him to vacate it in 1995, but at that time he did not sell it, but that he left it to the Barnwell Antiques Firm for their upkeep and management.
The residence, which is distributed over 40 rooms and has an outdoor space of 2,500 acresis striking for still having some original structures of the Barnwell Castlebuilt in the year 1266.
Despite the sale of his former home, Prince Henry would seek, according to Mail Online, to continue his association with the area, as it holds great sentimental value for him.
