The first episode of mrs marvel makes it clear that we are facing one of the great surprises of the year of Marvel Studios
Ms Marvel it is pure love. A series that goes straight to the heart and knows how to play with our feelings in the best of ways. The best? It does not allow to get bored at any time! I was really blown away by the first episode of Ms. Marvel. In this post we bring you in analysis, the curiosities and theories of the first episode of Ms. Marvel. (Spoilers beware)
ANALYSIS
Ms Marvel is Marvel Studios’ seventh television foray into Disney+ and continues to make its undisputed reign clear by presenting a seemingly teen series that welcomes all kinds of audiences, veterans and newcomers, to enjoy the origin of Ms. Marvel and fall in love with Kamala Khan. Platonic. Please.
Ms Marvel definitely automatically becomes the best gift that Marvel Studios could have given us A love letter to all the Marvel fans who have loved and grown up with the Marvel Cinematic Universe and the Marvel Universe getting noticed from the first minute absorbing you into an overwhelming exercise that surprises locals and strangers without requiring a story with great explosions, or transcendental arguments for the future of Marvel Studios, but appealing to something more basic: the heart and soul of the one who promises to become one of the superheroines biggest in the MCU. Kamala Khan.
Ms. Marvel will be the series where we meet the one that I predict will definitely be the leader of the Young Avengers at least.
Ms. Marvel introduces us to Kamala Khan who lives in New Jersey with her family who is preparing for her older brother’s wedding while facing high school and AvengerCon and the Captain Marvel cosplay contest in which she will participate. Of course not all will be gold that glitters.
Kamala’s parents won’t let her go to school. avengercon but this won’t make Kamala cringe and decide to go anyway. Along the way, she will run into some bracelets with strange crystals that will allow her to do amazing things, allowing a spectacular action scene in the first episode that will become the trigger for everything that is to come in the series.
Kamala discovering the bracelets, her relationships with her friends and family, her environment
The first episode is concise in the presentation of Kamala Khan and how the radioactive spider falls into her hands allowing her these new powers that no matter how much people criticize it is better not to advance events and I will expand later. The best thing about the first episode is that it grabs you and never lets you get bored. And I think that says a lot for how they are telling things.
Integrating certain animated elements to the scene that give it a comic aspect very much in line with what Ms. Marvel has always been in comics and is overwhelming at times. But I already warned you that the whole series will not be like this, eh? Don’t come up to me.
Marvel Studios with this kind of little things makes it clear that each superhero is a world and the world of Kamala Khan is more than exciting to explore.
The first episode is even very short
Iman Vellani is coming out not the next. He exudes pure charisma. And they couldn’t have picked anyone better than Kamala Khan. She is just perfect. Wonderful. And the rest of the cast is not far behind with their entire endearing family; her high school classmates, even the most hateful ones and of course the surprises at the end of it.
The script and the dialogues are agile and devilishly addictive, full of constant references. Ms Marvel exudes a vibe of good vibes and good vibes more than perfect.
Ms Marvel is a series that goes straight to the heart
In the technical section of Ms. Marvel we have the quality seal of Marvel Studios and although we thought that perhaps since it was a teen series it would have a different treatment… Nothing could be further from the truth. The series is perfectly camouflaged and looks like a movie.
It shows in the framing of the shot, the camera movements, the color, how the shots are composed even without narrating great plot twists, it shows that the directors of Ms. Marvel know how to move through the material and make it their own. Very very top.
The costumes are consistent with what we would all expect from a teen series without great eccentricities. The music is an addictive mix of themes and I’m looking forward to creating a playlist to add them all. And the soundtrack is very interesting at the moment. I mean… Ms. Marvel is going to be a serious one. Save my words.
Marvel Studios has managed to distill the magic that Ms. Marvel exudes in the comics and make it real, tangible, so that everyone can discover Kamala Khan and fall in love with the world of Ms. Marvel.
Pay attention to the post-credits scene!
CURIOSITIES
- The first episode of Ms. Marvel begins exactly like the Ms. Marvel comic with a Kamala Khan fan fic, although in the series, more than a fan fic, it’s a video that Kamala is producing for YouTube. Something to feel identified with first. Or not?
- In the first few minutes they give us a summary of Captain Marvel and Avengers Endgame from Kamala’s point of view.
- Ant-Man has a podcast and it looks like people finally recognize it!
- Kamala YouTuber. She is a freak of care. And proud of it.
- A success is to have put the plot of the driver’s license because it is a procedure that everyone has had to go through once in their life for better or for worse…
- Kamala’s daydreams are a carbon copy of the comic and I love how they integrate them into the narrative.
- Kevin Feige has already anticipated that it would be a good idea to propose an AvengerCon in reality… Hopefully.
- The Circle Q is straight out of the comics.
- Kamala Khan’s family and friends are all a carbon copy of their counterparts in the cartoons.
- Kamala Khan is a fan of Felicity, a 90s series that was all the rage at the time and was produced by JJ Abrams.
- The first episode already begins to raise a series of subplots, including the theme of the centralization of wealth and the problem that it entails. It’s a problem that Kamala Khan had to deal with in the comics and it looks like it’s going to be a major plot here too.
- Bruno, Kamala’s best friend, is a brainiac just like in the comics and definitely in the series he will be the guy in the wheelchair who will accompany the superheroine on her journey.
- Mention is made to the Djin, the geniuses who mention the Koran.
- The stuffed animal that Kamala has in her room is a classic.
- What a drama that they won’t let you go to AvengersCon! Who has not done mischief when his parents have denied him something?
- I think the bracelets hold much more and I’m telling you having already seen the second episode… I don’t think it’s 100% Kamala’s powers and if people were worried about the Inhumans. Do not worry.
- AvengersCon is held at Camp Legigh, the same camp where Captain America was tested to become the First Avenger and the facility was destroyed years later in Winter Soldier.
- AvengersCon is an experience full of references, each one more surprising.
- We could dedicate an entire video to all the stands we see.
- We are left with the tribute to the Widow and Iron Man. They still remember them!
- Look out for the Asgard Pride t-shirt.
- The Captain Marvel cosplayers contest is a real delight as they take the opportunity to present us with all the designs that Carol Danvers has been wearing in the comics over the years.
- Zoe in the comics was also presented as a ball pusher but in the end she integrated very well into Kamala’s group more when she saved her from drowning after receiving her powers in the comics. Something similar happens here.
- When Kamala’s mother asks her what she wants her life to be, she is very clear: COSMIC.
- Pay attention to the post-credits scene! Where we meet again with the Damage Control agent Cleary that we met in Spider-Man: No Way Home. It looks like it will be a tough nut to crack for Kamala. And it is better not to advance events because I know little things about what is coming.
Definitely from now on I tell you that Ms. Marvel has the potential to become the best Marvel Studios series, not only because of the story that they are going to tell us or how they are going to tell us, but because of what it is going to mean for thousands of girls in the world. whole world and not only girls but as I have already mentioned. We are all invited to the party. Because Ms Marvel is a series that makes itself felt. It makes love.
With Ms Marvel, Marvel Studios has definitely managed to find its Spider-Man.
Ms Marvel also arrives to do justice to Ms. Marvel and it is that in the comics Ms. Marvel never had an origin beyond running into the Terrigenous Cloud that revealed her Inhuman nature and got down to work… However in the Universe Marvel Cinematic We still don’t know the Inhumans except for Black Bolt’s cameo in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness in MCU 838.
But those crystals on Kamala’s bracelet give away that we will definitely learn more about the Inhumans in future episodes or at least the Kree.
The series is creating its own space to develop an origin more than up to the task for which it is presented as the standard-bearer of the new generation of the Young Avengers of Marvel Studios.
The future is more than bright
I couldn’t contain my excitement at the end of the episode. It is a wonder. What do you think of the first episode of Ms. Marvel? Have you caught all the AvengersCon references? What do you think of Iman Vellani as Kamala Khan? Will we see the Inhumans in Ms. Marvel?
