We can already read what people who have been able to see Jurassic World: Dominion, the new installment of the Jurassic Park saga, think.
It will hit theaters around the world very soon. Jurassic World: Dominionthe movie of Colin Trevorrow that will bring the dinosaurs back to life. Therefore, it is interesting to know what people who have already been able to see it think. It sounds like it’s entertaining, but it won’t change the history of sci-fi movies either.
The positive points are that it is a visual spectacle, because the special effects are first class, it also has a stellar cast and there will be a lot of fanservice. So it is clear that we will enjoy a good summer blockbuster.
While the negative points are that it seems very long, there are plots that lead nowhere and that it does not give an epic ending.
First reactions:
- Jurassic World: Dominion throws a ton at the wall to see what sticks. The first act is fine. The middle sinks in as it feels outside of a franchise, but the third act is a really nice section of fanservice. Nothing amazing, but decently entertaining.
- GOOD NEWS: It’s my favorite movie of the new trilogy. It’s packed with exciting dinosaur encounters and so much more. Jeff Goldblum, but it also has a great balance of creepy and inventive settings with a few choice nods to what came before. A solid ending.
- There’s a fanfic feel to it that doesn’t work in its favor. Despite the dinosaurs (of which there should be more), the plot is lost by trying to do too much. As a result, much-needed humanity is sacrificed.
- I’m not happy to report that Jurassic World: Dominion is a huge disappointment. While the movie features some amazing dinosaur sequences and it’s great to see the original cast back on the big screen, the movie doesn’t deliver on what the previous movies promise.
- The franchise felt like it was leading to an epic conclusion where dinosaurs and humans would FINALLY co-exist. Unfortunately, that is NOT the focus of this movie. Instead, the movie does the same thing we saw before just with poor plotting, writing, and acting.
- Seriously, Jurassic World: Dominion is bad. Very bad. It’s too long, it’s wildly repetitive, and the dinosaurs are a showcase for multiple uninteresting and unrelated stories. The actors do their best, but it’s all too self-indulgent and pointless. One of the worst in the franchise, if not the worst.
- It’s a massive amount of fun that unites Jurassic Park and the new trilogy into one epic legacy that has come full circle. This will probably be the favorite of the trilogy and not just for the original cast.
The Jurassic World: Dominion movie will be released on June 9, 2022.
