The woman, whose relationship to the actor has not been clarified, was taken to hospital with minor head and neck injuries in “stable condition.”
The actor’s lawyer, Priya Chaudhry, assured, according to local media, that the actor is not only innocent, but that “he is proven to be the victim of an altercation with a woman he knows.”
“We are rapidly collecting and presenting evidence to the district attorney in the hope that all charges will be dropped imminently,” Chaudhry said.
Majors’ representative, Carrie Gordon, said in a statement published by The Angeles Times that the actor “has done nothing wrong.”
“We look forward to clearing his name and clarifyingwhat happened, he added.
According to local media, the actor was released without bail and will have to attend a hearing on May 8.
The incident comes at an important time in Majors’ career, with notable roles in some recent films such as Creed III and Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania from Marvel, the Walt Disney franchise, or Magazine Dreamsa film recently presented at the Sundance Film Festival.
