The humorist James Corden has tried to stay out of the controversy in which he has been involved on account of his alleged “arrogant” and “abusive” behavior in a famous New York restaurant, the prestigious Balthazar located in the popular SoHo neighborhood. However, the humorist has also been forced to speak directly on this delicate matter in the framework of an interview previously scheduled for The New York Times, a talk that the artist has refused to cancel as a result of the latest attack against his public image.
Earlier this week, the owner of the aforementioned establishment, Keith McNally, revealed on his social networks that the British interpreter was banned from entering his restaurant due to a series of incidents that would have brought out the most despotic and rude side of the comedian. According to his version of the facts, Corden would have gone too far with managers and waiters in his last two visits to the place, demanding free drinks after finding a hair in one of them or threatening to destroy Balthazar’s reputation due to the quality of the tortilla that he served. his wife, Julia Carey, had asked.
Just a few hours later, McNally returned to the virtual sphere to announce that Corden had contacted him to apologize “profusely” for his conduct, which had led the hotelier to lift the ban and, out of generosity and compassion, give a second chance to the comedian, whom he had referred to as a “little cretin” in his previous message. However, in the few statements that he has now offered in this regard, it does not seem that the English actor regrets at all the attitude that he displayed in Balthazar.
“I have not done anything wrong, at any level”, the artist has complained in his conversation with the newspaper. I haven’t thought about canceling. [la entrevista] because I feel very ‘zen’ in that sense. Because I think it’s nonsense, I think it’s below all of us, below this publication ”, he has defended himself without delving into the matter or giving more explanations. Although it was not his wish, James Corden has also stated that he will speak at length about the controversy on his late-night program ‘The Late Late Show’, in order to dismantle the alleged hoaxes that circulate about him.
