German authorities are getting tough on local creators of pornographic content who fail to properly restrict access to their posts on social media and the web in general.
The pornography industry is not in the odor of holiness across the Rhine. Berlin cracks down on online pornographic publications. It uses Artificial Intelligence to identify creators and producers who do not take adequate measures to restrict their content to an adult audience. Twitter users seem particularly targeted by the Kommission für Jugendmedienschutz (commission for the protection of minors).

Even though pornography is not illegal in Germany, it is forbidden to make it available to minors. Hundreds of stories from actors and producers accused of not making enough arrangements are beginning to pour in. The possible lawsuits paint a very bleak future for this rather special industry. All parties involved risk several thousand euros in fines, and in some cases, prison sentences.
German authorities have warned 104 X-rated content creators
In their task, the authorities actively use theArtificial intelligence in the form of software called KIVI. The latter scours the Web, and social networks in particular, in search of pornographic content. It assesses the accessibility of the material, gauging the visitor age verification technologies used. As a result, the players in the community feel muzzled. One of these people agreed to testify to Wired on condition of anonymity: “I sometimes feel ashamed. It has a big psychological impact. All I wanted was to express my sexuality”.
The desired deterrent effect is, it seems, effective. This descent on the porn industry pushed many of the actors in the field to delete all their publications, and to cease all publication. The latter do not know for the moment if they will be dragged before the courts, in which case they risk up to a year in prison, or if they will be hit with a €300 fine.
