We’ve all seen a thriller or series involving murder, but a South Korean girl became so obsessed with true crime stories that she ended up becoming a murderer “just out of curiosity.”
When the police arrested her, she first stated that she had accidentally killed the victim after they had an argument, but her testimony had several contradictions and, in the end, she had to admit the truth.
Jung Yoo-Jung, 23, was used to being a lonely girl who lived practically secluded at home, because, according to police reports, since she finished high school, she no longer continued studying or had a job. Apparently, the young woman liked to consume all kinds of crime stories in series, books and television programs, according to the Daily Mail.
This was how he planned to murder a person in real life, just to know what it felt like. Jung Yoo-Jung used crime novels and TV shows as part of her investigation of him. In addition, according to his library records, he consulted various crime stories and even searched the Internet for advice on how to hide a dead body.
To carry out his macabre plan, he selected his victim using a apps where private tutors could be hired to give internships to students. Jung pretended to be a mother who was looking for English classes for her daughter and contacted a teacher, agreeing so that her supposed daughter would go to her house to pick her up to finalize the details.
Then the young killer bought a school uniform online to pose as the fake daughter. In addition, she went to a nearby supermarket, where she bought large garbage bags and bottles of bleach. When going to the appointment, she was most likely mistaken for a common student and she was able to easily enter the English teacher’s house. However, once inside her, she stabbed the victim with a knife.
Subsequently, the girl cut and dismembered her victim, placing some body parts in a suitcase. As if that were not enough, she left the house and took a taxi to dispose of the body in a wooded area that was isolated. Once there, she threw the suitcase into the Nakdong River, but she kept the victim’s phone, identification and wallet, as she tried to pretend that the teacher had disappeared.
He thought that his plan would be successful, but he did not count on the fact that the taxi driver found his attitude suspicious and alerted the police. When carrying out the corresponding investigation, the authorities found different evidence of the horrible crime.
In the end, the young murderer confessed to the murder and even said that she felt very sorry for the victim’s family. The process continues its course and perhaps she will soon be sentenced, although she revealed that the police are carrying out tests to discover if she is a psychopath.
