After succeeding in the cinema, Glenda Jackson had an outstanding political career in the United Kingdom.

The British actress passed away today at the age of 87. Glenda Jacksonknown for movies like “Sunday, bloody sunday”, “Women in love” and “Hedda”. The news was released by his representative lionel larner.
Known for being one of the actresses who championed the empowerment of women in her characters, Jackson began her career in theater, starring in plays presented on Broadway and Paris stages. In 1970 she starred in “Women in love”tape for which he won the award oscar and that marked the beginning of his friendship with the director ken russellwith whom he would work on several more films.
In 1978 Glenda combined her film and stage work, but 14 years later she made the decision to start a political career as a member of the UK Labor Party, which surprised many. Her political activities ended in 2015, and she was subsequently encouraged by Michael Caine (one of his great friends) to return to acting, winning the award BAFTA in 2019 as Best Actress for the TV movie “Elizabeth is missing”.
Larner reported that Glenda Jackson has passed away at her home in Blackheath, London, after a short illness.; to the actress (whose last job was the film “The great escaper”not yet released and in which he worked with Caine) is survived by his son Dan Hodges. Rest in peace.
