The technology is simple: you enter a web page, upload your photograph, upload an official ID for data verification and that’s it, you’re already registered in Fan ID… Does this automatically protect you? In principle, no, it has even harmed the dynamics of entering sports venues.
“The Fan ID will be a requirement to enter the stadium, in all areas”, recite the social networks of the teams, week after week, but during the games, reality exceeds the will of Liga MX.
The Fan ID will be a requirement to enter the stadium, in all areas
Waiting times to enter the stadiums are prolonged, due to the fact that the security filters, in charge of reviewing the Fan ID of each attendee, take much longer than in the old system, in which they only had to pass the sensor through the ticket code.
Thanks to this logistical problem, the same thing is repeated every week: despite the fact that people anticipate and arrive early, fans miss part of the matches, for “their safety”, and the security officers have to to give up, letting all attendees pass, with or without ID.
“Next week now it will be mandatory”, they always repeat.
Another problem that has affected the operation of the Fan ID is the slow WiFi connection in the stadiums, since the security filters require devices with an Internet connection that, if they do not have a good connection, simply do not work.
