What a stir the indie pop artist Alisun caused with her most recent feat with PETA Latino. And it is that the famous starred in a fun session in which she appears with a dazzling dress made of vegetables and an artichoke “microphone” as part of the campaign that seeks to encourage the public to stop eating meat, eggs and dairy for Valentine’s Day the earth.
“I am vegan for the animals and for the environment,” says the daughter of Marco Antonio Solís ‘El Buki’ in a video accompanying the campaign. “We cannot stop our own suffering if we continue to consume it.”
Even, Alisun revealed that her knowledge of the positive impact of veganism on the planet has helped her inspire several people, including her father, ‘El Buki.
According to the United Nations, about a third of all human-caused greenhouse gas emissions are linked to food production, with the largest percentage of these gases coming from the meat and dairy industries.
In contrast, vegan foods, such as fruits and vegetables, whole grains, beans, peas, nuts, and lentils, require less energy, land, and water, and switching to a plant-based diet can help the world avoid the worst effects of climate catastrophe.
With this new initiative, Alisun joins a growing list of celebrities including Michelle Renaud, Christopher von Uckermann, Joaquin Phoenix, Patricia Manterola, Natalie Portman, Edward James Olmos and Alba Flores.who have joined forces with PETA and PETA Latino to promote compassionate, green, plant-based eating.
