This Wednesday, November 23, the last episode of the first season of ‘Andor’ premieres on Disney +. Luckily, it was already known that the series was going to have two seasons and the filming of the new episodes will start shortly. We will still have to wait to see them, but at Espinof we have been able to chat exclusively with diego luna both about the future of ‘Andor’ and other aspects of this adventure within the ‘Star Wars’ universe.
Our conversation began by going over some of the references when building the character of Cassian Andorwith Luna acknowledging that the unforgettable Han Solo was always there, but also how much he has evolved throughout the first season of the Disney+ series.
In addition, I also wanted to know how was the reunion with Tony Gilroy after ‘Rogue One: A Star Wars Story’, a film marked by certain problems behind the scenes. On this occasion, ‘Andor’ is a Gilroy series and, obviously, that has been noted when it comes to building a proposal that is quite different from what is usual in this galaxy far, far away created by George Lucas.
Finally, I couldn’t resist asking him to will advance us something of what is to come in the second season of the series. Luna did not hesitate to make it clear that it will be the end of the road, since “Andor season 2 ends when ‘Rogue One: A Star Wars Story’ begins, there is not much more to tell“, but it also clarifies how the structure, both narrative and temporal, of the next 12 episodes of the series will be and how it will differ from the first season.
