The announcement that Wan would reprise the adventures of Arthur Curry in a sequel to ‘Aquaman’ dates back about four years; a period during which the plan of Warner Bros. and DC Films and the narrative of the DCU has changed drastically, forcing the filmmaker to make constant adjustments to fit the ins and outs of the shared universe.
During an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, the person in charge of ‘Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom’ has explained How has the creation process of the feature film been and the great advantage it has had when shaping the film with his priorities in mind.
“I’ve had to make adjustments all along the way. The DCU has gone through many different iterations, and one of the challenges this movie posed was keeping up with what’s going on. Thankfully, the Aquaman universe is quite separate from the rest. We’re going to visit a lot of different underwater kingdoms that aren’t necessarily related to what’s going on in other movies and characters, so we’re independent in that sense. So I can tell my own story without it being too affected, but at the same time At the same time I have to be aware of what has been going on.
Will ‘Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom’ live up to his character? Will the patches prior to the start of the first arc of the brand new DC Universe be noticed? We will have to wait until on December 22 of this same 2023, date on which it will be released in theaters. Although if you want more comic adaptations of the Distinguished Competition, this August 18th you have a date with ‘Blue Beetle’. Don’t miss the superheroes.
