We’re having a couple of golden years for revivals, and especially ones that hardly anyone expected like ‘Trigun Stampede’.
Another series to which a bit of fresh air has come in handy has been ‘Urusei Yatsura’ by Rumiko Takahashiwhich premiered a new anime last fall to tell us about the (complicated) romance between Ataru and Lum.
We are halfway
Takahashi’s original manga had 34 compilation volumes that extended to 194 chapters in the first anime that premiered back in 1981. The reboot of david production is being much more conservative and in principle It seems that it will only be around 52 chapters, which should be more than enough to accommodate the entire story.
The first 23 chapters have already been released, which have been divided into two parts, and now we still have the rest of the story. We are going to have to be patient, because it has already been confirmed that the second season is underway but also that we will have to wait until 2024 to be able to see it.
At the time it was also confirmed that ‘Urusei Yatsura’ would be divided into four parts in total. So as with the first, we can also expect that the second season will also have two blocks of chapters.
Although it has not been officially confirmed, it is to be expected that david production return to the rag for the rest of the series… especially considering that the studio’s star team dedicated itself to ‘Urusei Yatsura’ and left the last part of ‘JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure’ a bit left to its own devices.
