In the midst of the changes that Marvel Studios has made to improve the quality standards of its productions, one of its most important women made the decision to step aside from her duties within the company.
The Hollywood Reporter reports that Argentine Victoria Alonso resigned from her position as Vice President of Production, Special Effects and Animation at Marvel Studios on March 17.
The site mentions that this resignation was handled in complete secrecy by La Casa de las Ideas, and the reasons why Alonso left his position at Marvel Studios remain unknown.
Alonso has been part of Marvel Studios since 2006, and has served as executive producer on all the films and series issued by this production house, from Iron Man in 2008, to Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, and even his credits for production company will continue in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.3.
Key piece of the success of Marvel Studios
The producer of Argentine descent was also part of the production of the film Argentina 1985, which was nominated for an Oscar in 2023 for Best Foreign Film, added to the fact that it supported causes in favor of the LGBT community in Florida, and is considered one of the most influential Hispanic personalities in the entertainment industry.
The departure of Victoria Alonso occurs amid reports accusing the producer of labor mistreatment against those in charge of the special effects of Marvel films, added to the favoritism of certain companies that work for La Casa de las Ideas .
Marvel Studios has not yet officially pronounced on the departure of Victoria Alonso, as well as who will be in charge of the vice presidency of production and animation.
