That’s my goal”.
Questioned by the press about whether he considers that he has suffered discrimination in Formula 1 Due to the fact of being Mexican or Latin American, Checo Pérez stressed that he does not consider it that way, but neither is he recognized when he has a good career, compared to European drivers.
“The truth is that no (he does not consider suffering discrimination), I think the only thing is that maybe if I have a good race they don’t talk about me as much as if I were a European driver; and if I have a bad race, there is more talk.”
“I am very lucky to be MexicanI believe that very few pilots in the history of the sport have been able to experience the level of support that I have in my country”, he added.
The Mexican Grand Prix will be held from October 28 to 30 at the Hermanos Rodríguez Autodrome, in which Checo Pérez will try to get on the podium again like last season.
The man from Guadalajara assures that he is aware of his career and that he is currently very excited about his team.
“I am aware of my career and I know that the end is closer than the beginning, I have been in the category for 12 years; right now I feel very excited about my team (…) Formula 1 gives you a lot but takes away many other things, it is a 100 percent dedication to the sport. Today my dream is to be world champion, if I achieve it I don’t know what comes next for me”.
