The presentation of this impressive collection could not have had a better setting than the metropolis where the artist was born: New York, where Swatch organized an unconventional evening, led by DJ Grandmaster Flash.
The event brought together Alain Villard, CEO of Swatch and Carlo Giordanetti, CEO of Swatch Art Peace Hotel with various representatives of the media, celebrities, influencers and friends of the brand to celebrate Basquiat’s roots.
For the presentation of the collection, Swatch invited the stars of the Swatch Proteam: Matthias Dandois, world champion of BMX and Andy Anderson, world champion of skateboarding.

Untitled
The Untitled model takes up Basquiat’s famous crown, a symbol present in many of his paintings and which has been interpreted as the tenacious search for success.
Hollywood Africans
This piece is based on the painting Hollywood Africans, a work in which Basquiat questions the stereotypes of African-Americans imposed by the entertainment industry in the 1980s.
Ishtar
The motifs of this watch are a tribute to the painting that Basquiat titled with the name of the Babylonian goddess of love and beauty.
