There is just under a month left for his return and Netflix has finally unveiled the official trailer for season 2 of ‘Vikings: Valhalla’, the new installments of the spin-off of the well-known series by Michael Hirst. A batch that will arrive on January 12, 2023 and that disperses our warriors into exile.
As we already know, season 2 will delve into the consequences of the fall of Kattegat in the first season, with the main trio —Sam Corlett (Leif Eriksson), Frida Gustavsson (Freydis Eriksdotter), Leo Suter (Harald Sigurdsson)— seeing themselves as fugitives and having to go into exile outside of Scandinavia.
European tour
So we will see our heroes scattered across continental Europe, entering territories such as Pomerania and the Dnieper River throughout eight episodes. In the words of Jeb Stuart, the creator of the series, it was time to get them out of their comfort zone:
“Season 2 will show that sometimes when you hang out with people who are just like you, eat like you, talk like you, you will still run into problems. So you need to add fuel to the fire, which is what I think the Vikings did. And they did it fantastically, I think better than any other culture. So we assemble this diverse group of Russian nobles, Muslim astronomers and hustlers and they all head out of Novgorod.”
The cast of this new season of ‘Vikings: Valhalla’ is made up of Bradley James, Hayat Kamille, Marcin Dorocinski, Sofya Lebedeva, Bradley Freegard, Jóhannes Haukur Jóhannesson, Laura Berlin, David Oakes, Pollyanna McIntosh, and Soren Pilmark.
