Ike’s addictions to her made him literally beat the shit out of her: “He used my nose like a punching bag so many times that I could taste the blood running down my throat when he sang.. She broke my jaw… Cracked lips, black eyes, dislocated joints, broken bones…”
After 16 years, Tina Turner he obtained a divorce in exchange for leaving him part of his music and all his money and property. Still, he paid that price for his freedom. He started again from scratch and succeeded even more at the professional level, leaving a legacy forever.
