When winter comes, many of us complain about the cold, but many of us are looking forward to the first snowfall and, with it, the opening of the ski slopes. For this reason, today we want to introduce you to a unique mountain spot, specifically, in the Sierra de Guadarrama from Madrid where you can breathe fresh air and enjoy yourself in a big way: Cercedilla.
It is a rural destination that has a bit of everything, where we can enjoy at any time of the year. And it is that when the weather is good we can take the opportunity to do hiking thanks to Las Dehesaslocated in one of the most important forest masses in the Community of Madrid, especially large Scots pine forests, but not only that, because it also has natural pools (for the summer) and a risky adventure park, the EcoParque.

Lights of the West in Cercedilla
As data, for all those who seek a cooler temperature during the summer months, in Cercedilla there is an average of about 11 ºC minimum for the day and about 20ºC maximum in summer. Therefore, it is one of the coolest towns in Spain.
As for the points of interest of a patrimonial nature, there are many points, such as theto Parish Church of San Sebastián, patron saint of Cercedilla, of late Romanesque origin with a Latin cross floor plan and an altarpiece from the Churrigueresque school (S.XV -XVIII).
But we also have the Hermitage of Santa Maria as one of the emblematic points of Cercedilla where every September 8 it receives the visit of the neighbors who celebrate the traditional Pilgrimage in Honor of the Nativity of Our Lady.
Then we have the Roman road or the Venta Bridge, Barefoot Bridge and En Medio Bridge, without losing sight of the Cultural Center or the laundry built in 1945 in the vicinity of the Arroyo de la Teja or de Abajo.
As said, an excellent place at any time of the year in which to let yourself be enveloped by nature and the spirit of this town in Madrid.
