Speaking of stories, the same Briton has several arcs of the Man of Steel as his favorites, but there is a story which he considers to be his favorite, and he could seek to bring it to the big screen.
In 2018, during the Mission: Impossible Fallout book tour, Cavill revealed his favorite Superman story.
“I’m a big fan of the Superman comics, obviously, and we’ve covered a lot of the best things about the comics, in part, in the movies, so I couldn’t necessarily say. But I can tell you that one of my favorite comics is Superman: For Tomorrow. It could certainly be inspired by that, I think it would be a very good movie”.
What is Superman for Tomorrow about?
Superman: For Tomorrow is a 12-issue series written by Brian Azzarello and drawn by Jim Lee, two of DC Comics’ current heavyweights, published between June 2004 and May 2005.
In this story, Superman finds himself investigating the strange disappearance of a million people, including Lois Lane, while wrestling with the guilt of not having been on Earth when it all happened.
Even in 2018, Cavill shared an illustration of Superman for Tomorrow on his Instagram account.
With the return of Cavill as the Man of Steel, and the arrival of Peter Safran and James Gunn as president of DC Films.
