More than 550 biological children are attributed to a European sperm donor, who was apparently lying about the number of times he participated as a donor. For this reason, he was sued by one of the mothers of those children and by the Donorkind Foundation.
As stipulated by Dutch law, a donor can participate in a maximum of 25 pregnancies or 12 families to avoid inbreeding, incest and psychological problems of children who were conceived in these circumstances.
According to information from The Times of London, The complainant mother, identified as Eva, assures that she will resort to the courts to demand that the donor, Jonathan Jacob Meijer, stop participating in pregnancies, since it seems that the man does not want to stop doing so. In addition, the subject lied when he assured Eva that she had only conceived a maximum of 25 children.
If I had known that he had already fathered over 100 children, I would never have chosen this donor. When I think about the consequences this could have for my son, my stomach turns and I am uncertain about his future. How many more children will there be?
According to the complaint, Jonathan’s mode of operation is through dating platforms and social networks, where he contacts parents who want to get a donor for insemination, but lies about the number of children he has conceived.

Jonathan Jacob Meijer, 41, is a musician and has donated his sperm in at least 13 clinics, 11 of which are in the Netherlands. According to the British newspaper, an Australian couple paid more than $6,500 to Danish fertility clinic Cryos International for his sperm, which he donated under the pseudonym Ruud.
Both the Donorkind Foundation and the people affected hope that the law can stop this man from continuing to offer himself as a sperm donor.
