On February 17, almost the entire country celebrated the news of the appearance of Chavita, a 17-year-old boy who was abducted the day after his birth by a woman who posed as a nurse in the state of Jalisco, in Mexico, and that until a few days ago his whereabouts were unknown.
Precisely on December 13, the day Chavita turned 17, the Jalisco Prosecutor’s Office announced the capture of Esther Alejandra S., the woman who posed as staff from the Mexican Institute of Social Security (IMSS) clinic, better known as Hospital Ayala de Guadalajara, to enter the room of the child’s mother and take the newborn under the pretext of carrying out some medical studies.
In December 2005, Mrs. Rosalía López stated that the hospital staff introduced the woman as part of the medical team, but when her son disappeared, both the nurses and the pediatrician said they did not know her.
For 16 years, Yasir Macías and Rosalía, Chava’s parents, did not give up until they found him and despite the fact that they filed the complaint with the State Prosecutor’s Office, there was no necessary follow-up on their part, so they did not stop search all this time.
A year ago, the young man’s mother asked a specialized expert to make an animated projection of what her son would be like today and due to that digitized image, which was disseminated through social networks, as well as the collaboration of the citizenship, managed to find the minor.
Anonymously, the parents received a folder of photographs and information about the location of a boy who could be their lost son, so they went to the Zapopan Police Search Commission and after the genetic tests, which coincided in a 99.99 percent, they managed to find their son.
Now, with the recent capture of the woman, it is understood that she has been made available to the judge for the crime of child theft, to which she must answer. It is worth mentioning that the person responsible for the crime has not declared the true intentions of the theft.
