In a world with more or less 2,000 million web pages there are only 50 that take almost all the traffic. Thanks to an infographic by Visual Capitalist (which takes its data from SimilarWeb) we have been able to observe how, despite the fact that China is huge, US websites get almost all the traffic.
It stands out that in Europe we are far behind in this regard. Of the 50 most viewed websites in the world, only three are from our continent (one is from the Czech Republic, another from Cyprus and another from France) and all three are porn pages.
The undisputed king is the Alphabet empire. The Web with the most visits is Google, followed by YouTube. Between the two, Google (3.5 billion daily searches) and YouTube have more traffic than the other 48 websites in the ranking.

Social networks succeed
Among the most visited websites in the world, in addition to Google, it is the social networks that take the cake. It is clear that we use the Internet for much of our leisure and contact with other people.
After the giants of Alphabet we find that The most popular social networks, in this order, are: Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. You have to wait until the sixth position to find a Chinese website and it is Baidu. It is followed by Wikipedia and the Russian Yandex. Then Yahoo arrives (this week we saw that although it seems that Yahoo is missing, it continues to have million-dollar profits) and WhatsApp.
It is noteworthy that the French porn website XNxx has more visits in the world than other well-known platforms such as Netflix, TikTok and Reddit. In addition, the Czech Xvideos has more visits than the Canadian PornHub, a name that is talked about the most (at least in the media like Genbeta when we echo the measures it is taking to try to tackle serious problems such as minors accessing their web or that there are no videos with sexual exploitation of minors).
He Bing search engine has to wait for position 30 to appear on the list, although we will have to see what happens, taking into account the great efforts of Microsoft with Artificial Intelligence ChatGPT to overcome its great rivals. In position 42 is the search engine DuckDuckGo.
