They announce a new adaptation of the classic French comic Barbarella, previously played by Jane Fonda and now by Sydney Sweeney.
Through the site Deadline it was reported that Barbarella will have a new incarnation, more than 60 years after her arrival on the big screen, this time played by Sydney Sweeney and produced by Sony Pictures.

The news was confirmed by the actress herself through her Instagram account:
The actress from Euphoria and The White Lotus, and soon from Madame Web, will revive Barbarella, the futuristic and space heroine from the series of French comics by Jean-Claude Forest published since 1962 in V-Magazine in 1962, and popularized worldwide by the 1968 film starring Jane Fonda and directed by Roger Vadim.

The original film “follows a 41st century astronaut who sets out to find and stop evil scientist Durand Durand, whose positronic beam threatens to bring evil back to the galaxy. The film was not a huge box office success, but has since become a cult classic, and in 2020 the Forest Estate announced plans for a new film.
