Being afraid is valid, no matter how absurd it seems.
We all have our favorite singers and also those we can’t stand to listen to or see. This is something perfectly normal; however, there are those who go further and develop an intense and irrational fear towards an individual; in this case, Michael Jackson.
It turns out that there are people who cannot see an image of the King of Pop, or listen to his songs, or even think about his existence, without feeling a deep fear. They get to shake, and cry and all they want is to escape from the place where they are exposed to something related to Jackson.
However, this would be practically impossible as he is one of the most important artists in the history of music. You never know where a song of his might appear; for example, in a clothing store, a bar, or just a person humming along the street.
Because as Homer already said; “The truth is that he sings well and is noble.”
So Michael Jackson is a great artist who has been involved in several scandals, even after his death. One of them is that he is supposedly still alive, hidden among us and from time to time is captured in photographs, of very poor quality, by the way. With a ghostly and even deformed face is how they present the King today; and some children were victims of these theories and images, which caused them a huge panic towards the artist.
Recently, the reaction of a girl who has this so-called Michaelphobia went viral on TikTok. Ruby Marriot is an 18-year-old girl who can’t bear to listen to or watch anything related to the interpreter of “Smooth criminal.” Her sister decided to record Ruby’s moment of crisis when she ran into an impersonator of the singer.

In the video, the girl wrote: “My sister has a phobia of Michael Jackson”; while in the background the other young woman is seen in complete panic and a person interpreting the famous song “Thriller” she Then she added “Our first night in Aiya Napa became the most horrible.”
This traumatic episode occurred in Cyprus, while she and her family were on vacation celebrating her uncle’s wedding. As Ruby told South West News Service; It was their first night in the city of Aiya Napa and they decided to go to a bar to have fun. At first the chosen venue was very quiet and lonely, and no one knew that they would have live acts. So when a Michael Jackson impersonator showed up to pay tribute to him; Ruby saw her worst nightmare materialize.
“I turned around and saw a Michael Jackson impersonator dancing on the floor next to me,” Ruby said.
The girl began to cry and although her family tried to comfort her, everything was in vain; she had the image of a terrifying Michael Jackson in her head. She according to her she explained; her fear of the singer began when she was five years old for having seen things that at that time, her little brain could not process and now she must live with an irrational fear.
“Thriller is the song that scares me the most, mainly because I saw the video when I was younger,” she said. And as we could see in the clip, that is the song that the impersonator performs; so Ruby was shocked. But judging by the many comments from other users on the video, it seems that King of Pop phobia is a more common phenomenon than it seems.
“My sister and cousin would show me disturbing edited videos of him that people were making, and conspiracy theories that he’s still alive, like photos of him in the background or in people’s windows. If someone in my family plays any of his songs, I have to go to another room »he concluded.
