Every cycle has a beginning and an end, and the end of Stargirl will come in December 2022, since the series was canceled by the CW network.
The DC Comics series on conventional television begin to come to an end, and stargirl becomes the most recent series to be canceled by the CW network, so its history will come to an end in December.
The Hollywood Reporter reports that the CW has decided not to renew Stargirl for a new season, so the Brec Bassinger-starring series will come to an end on December 7.
Recall that in 2022 the CW network, which was owned by Warner Bros. and CBS-Viacom, was sold earlier this year, and the Nexstar group of stations assumed almost complete control of the network in October.
“Stargirl has always held a special place in my heart for many reasons… With all the changes brewing on the network, we knew this was possibly the last season, so we wrote with that in mind and delivered what I think is the best stargirl season so far” stated Geoff Johns, creator of Stargirl and executive producer of the series.
A special tribute from Geoff Johns
Stargirl started its broadcasts in 2020, intended as an exclusive series for the DC Universe service, but with the appearance of the HBO Max platform, this project reached the CW network.
Recall that Geoff Johns created Courtney Whitmore as Stargirl’s alter ego in the 90s, as a tribute to his sister, who died after a plane crash.
“I am grateful to WBTV and The CW for giving us a home to tell this story and honor my beloved late sister, and I am beyond grateful to the press and fans who have always stood by us through three incredible seasons.”
The third season of Stargirl will come to an end on December 7, 2022 on The CW in the United States. In Mexico and Latin America, the first two seasons are available on the HBO Max digital platform.
