It’s been almost ten years since the first season of ‘Psycho-Pass’ finished airing, a cyberpunk anime that followed a police department specialized in arresting future criminals. Two more seasons and a short list of movies would come later.
The franchise seems to have been slowly moving to the theatrical format. And to celebrate the tenth anniversary of the anime we have underway ‘Psycho-Pass: Providence’which opens this year.
Assembling the team again
As with the rest of the series and the previous films, Production I.G. he has also been in charge of the animation of ‘Psycho-Pass: Providence’. Naoyoshi Shiotani returns as director Makoto Fukami as a screenwriter with Tow UbukataY Naoyuki Wave He is once again in charge of character design and animation direction.
Although we still have to wait for the trailer, a first poster has been released and the release date of ‘Psycho Pass: Providence‘ for the next one May 12. The official plot of the film has not yet been specified, but it is possible that it is not a sequel but that it would happen at some point in the middle of the story that we have already seen in the anime.
This date is for Japan, and we will still have to see if we have an international theatrical release or you can directly watch the movie in streaming at some point. Because for now, at least several seasons of the anime series can be watched on Amazon Prime Video.
The main voice cast also returns, with kana hanazawa as Akane Tsunemori Tomokazu Seki as Shinya Kogami, Kenji Nojima as Nobuchika Ginoza, and Shisuka Itou as Yayoi Kunizuka.
